SIMON TALL
... is a rather tall, rather English musician / writer who also has a rather enviable collection of admirable hats. He hails from the fair city of Norwich, and since 2016 has been performing live - initially across East Anglia, and more recently around the length & breadth of the U.K.
He is also a prolific creator of music, with 9 albums currently available - and has also created BREADKNIFE MUSIC , which is a platform designed to help artists reach wider audiences.
SIMON TALL is the stage name for uber -talented songwriter Simon Poore, who performs solo as a live act yet creates intricate melodies & intriguing soundscapes with the expert use of (self played & recorded) backing tracks, which helps him to fully represent all of the layers and moods from his music.
His extensive back catalogue of albums contains a plethora of thoughtful insight and social commentary, blended with smatterings of personal experience and an occasional exploration of the absurdity of life & society - beguilingly wrapped up tight within catchy Pop , Rock and Indie-Folk sensibilities. SIMON TALL specialises in writing and recording a range of varied & eclectic material and usually writes and records as part of the One Month Album project.
In 2020 he released TWO albums; ‘Placenames’, was written and recorded in March 2020 at the height of the Pandemic lockdown and many of the songs reflect the isolation & separation felt by many during this time. The epic song ‘Blubberhouses’ was accompanied by a critically acclaimed video, available on the Breadknife Music YouTube channel. The 2nd album released in 2020 was ‘Black Paintings’, which was released in September 2020 and includes songs influenced by the painter Goya’s famous works.
In February 2019 he supported Sam Lewis from Nashville at the Waterfront in Norwich and Summer 2019 saw him play ButeFest in Scotland, alongside acts such as Big Country and Space. He has also been a regular favourite of The A.I.R Events crowds, as well as being one of the regular hosts of the Music House sessions at Jurnets bar in Norwich.
